Autumn's Bounty

Writer: Sally ParrSally Parr

There’s a definite nip in the air in the mornings, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up the luscious red berries that you’ve been enjoying all summer long. Look for plums, blackberries, damsons, red gooseberries, apples, pears and quince – locally grown, you can still support your immune system with plenty of vitamin C without clocking up food miles in your shopping basket. Check out our recipe for red gooseberry and plum porridge or try making a speedy breakfast bowl using a variety of stewed or fresh autumn fruits.
